Educators Rising

Saint Vincent College announced an agreement with Educators Rising, a Phi Delta Kappa International initiative, to help address teacher shortages by creating a pathway from high school to college teaching programs. Students can earn up to nine college credits toward a wide range of the College’s programs by completing the Educators Rising curriculum. The partnership aims to reduce costs and recognize early teaching experience, encouraging young people to pursue careers in education.

Cybersecurity

The College’s cybersecurity bachelor’s program has been reaccredited as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense by the NSA and CSS. First accredited in 2020, the program is one of 21 in Pennsylvania to earn the designation. It also ranked among Cybersecurity Guide’s top 25 cybersecurity bachelor’s programs for 2026, reflecting its success at combining technical rigor with a liberal arts and sciences education.

Middle States Accreditation

On March 12, following a comprehensive multi-year self-study and peer review process, Saint Vincent College received reaffirmation of accreditation from the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. The accreditation confirms the College’s commitment to academic quality, institutional improvement, and student success. The review highlighted strong campus collaboration and high graduate outcomes, including near 100% employment or graduate school placement. The next evaluation visit is scheduled for 2032-2033.

Spring Honors Convocation

At the 2026 Spring Honors Convocation, Saint Vincent College recognized outstanding students, faculty, and administrators in the Archabbey Basilica. Carolina Walters received the President’s Award, the College’s highest student honor, for leadership, academic achievement, and service. Dr. David A. Dzombak, C’79, delivered the keynote address and received the Presidential Medal of Honor. Numerous academic, research, and departmental awards were presented across the College.

Wimmer Winners

The College was pleased to recognize five college-bound students for their distinguished performance in the 45th annual Wimmer Scholarship Competition. Anthony Poole and Angela Yeung tied for first place, and they were each awarded four-year, full-tuition, room and board scholarships. Three additional finalists, Tobias Hayes, Abigail Ramaley, and Adam Szish, received four-year, full-tuition scholarships, bringing the total value of the awards to over $1 million.

CPA Exam Pass Rate

Data from the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy shows Saint Vincent College students are earning exemplary scores on the CPA Examination. The most recent pass rate data shows that first-time test-takers from SVC posted a 75% pass rate, while the average pass rate nationwide is only 49.2%. Saint Vincent’s pass rate is tied for fourth in the state and ranks in the top 35 nationwide.

AI Literacy Fellows

In January, Saint Vincent College announced the appointment of five AI Literacy Integration Fellows from the School of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences to advance the ethical and practical use of artificial intelligence in education. The fellows, Mallory Truckenmiller Saylor, C’19; Dr. Yara Acaf; Dr. Juan-Carlos Rivas; Dr. Emily Arledge, C’15; and Dr. Christopher McMahon, will develop strategies to help students evaluate and apply AI tools within their disciplines, with the aim of preparing students to work ethically and effectively in AI-augmented professional environments.

Nostra Aetate

To mark the 60th anniversary of Nostra Aetate, Saint Vincent College gathered a full house in the Fred Rogers Center for “An Evening of Dialogue and Unity.” Most Rev. David A. Zubik and Rabbi James A. Gibson led a discussion on Catholic-Jewish relations, emphasizing empathy, mutual understanding, and the rejection of antisemitism. The event highlighted the continued importance of interfaith dialogue in fostering unity in today’s world.
